The staff of the Foundation made a visit to West Papua

From 1 to 17 January 2016, Fr. Anthony Banks and Fr. Joseph Farrell and Mr. Maurizio Misitano made a visit to West Papua to meet with our brothers and sisters who are collaborating there in order to study together with them and with the local population some new interventions for development.
“The trip was rather hard and demanding because of the many places visited,” Maurizio said, “but we had the opportunity of coming to know a truly interesting reality, rich in vitality and enthusiasm.”
During those days we visited schools that were constructed and managed by the Augustinian friars, we spoke about human rights and we studied new agricultural methods being used in the villages. The information gathered was really a great deal and now it will be up to the Foundation: Augustinians Across the World, along with the missionaries in West Papua, to transform all of this into social projects that will come to the aid of the poorest people.
