Restaurant “Il Colonnato”

When Maurizio from the Augustinian Foundation told me about the Congolese children who, from tender ages, are forced into conditions of labor, I immediately said, we will do whatever it takes to help!

Thanks to the collaboration of the Foundation: Augustinians Across the World, and the restaurant “Il Colonnato”, we have as our goal the construction of a school in the Democratic Republic of Congo that will help 900 children who often live in poverty and are forced to work.
Together with the owners of the restaurant in Piazza Sant’Uffizio, next to Piazza San Pietro, two initiatives have been proposed:
1. A Solidarity Menu, and
2. A take-away solidarity lunch.

Thanks to the enthusiastic collaboration of the chef of the restaurant, we have prepared a colorful plate, organic, genuine and, most importantly, to sustain some social activities. All of the clients who select from the menu of the restaurant, “Il più Buono” contribute to support the social program directed to needy students.

Moreover, thanks to the open disposition of the owners of the restaurant and the collaboration of their staff, we have a “take away solidarity lunch” which will sustain and support the construction of a school in the Democratic Republic of Congo that will help, in a special way, child laborers.
