The Augustinian fathers arrived in Venezuela as early as 1527 and established the Augustinian Vicariate of Venezuela in 1952, dedicating themselves mainly to social activities and the education of the younger generations.

Their work is very important in this period, in which Venezuela faces a profound economic and political crisis which has led half of the population to live in poverty and the collapse of primary services.
