Cuba

The Augustinian missionaries reentered Cuba in 2007 after having been separated from the island in the 1970s.

After the first years of reassessment, they began to work above all with old and young in social assistance activities, formation and after-school recreation, and starting up again some of the activities that had characterized their presence on the island before the beginning of the government of Fidel Castro. Today they are present in Havana in the convent of Cristo Buen Viaje, in Puerto Padre, in the province of Holguin and Chambas, in the province of Ciego de Avila. Together with the Foundation, they are studying a program focused on sports activities and social engagement to involve youth and children.
