The Augustinian friars have been working alongside those most in need in Venezuela for around 70 years, offering quality education to the most vulnerable children and young people and helping them face the challenges of a rapidly changing society.
Thanks to this project it was possible to build (improve and supply with adequate equipment) 4 clinical cabins to respond more effectively to the needs that have arisen in recent times within the community and parish sector in the healthcare sector. Medical and professional staff were unable to care for people in need, due to limited resources, poor conditions in the area and lack of adequate equipment.
Performed activities:
- Realization of civil engineering works (improvement of the use of spaces per square meter of the areas; separation by cubicles; improvement of the internal appearance of the areas);
- Redesign of lighting and ventilation (replacement of lighting and electrical parts, sockets and switches, ensuring safety and privacy in the area);
- Supply of furniture and teaching resources (adequate furniture for the correct care of patients: auxiliary trolleys with drawers, two-step footrests, stretchers, standard gynecological stretcher, swivel stools, sofas, sofa beds, desks);
- Provision of specialized medical equipment (provision of basic equipment for cardiology consultation).
The private clinic has been completely reorganized and equipped: now more patients can be treated (there was a 20% increase).
