The Foundation “Augustinians Across the World” opened the meeting of Confindustria “Doing It Together”

On Friday, 26 February, Maurizio Misitano, the Executive Director of the Foundation, gave the opening talk for the study seminar: “Doing It Together: Development, Formation and Work” (see the program), organized by Confindustrie and in which participated some important speakers, Romano Prodi, Giuseppe Guzzetti, Massimo Egidi, Cardinals Calcagno, Veglio and Mons. Viganò. Giorgio Squinzi, the President of Confindustria, spoke at the closing of the meeting. To the 200 business people Maurizio Misitano highlighted just how important it is that all collaborate for the construction of a world that is more equitable and to work for a development that is truly sustainable and inclusive. The most recent economic crisis has shown the limits of socio-economic models that have been put forward up to now and how unthinkable it is to continue to propose the same strategies for the future. Today we have an opportunity and an obligation to think about new strategies for development, which will be able to evaluate the Professionalism of the third sector and in the industrial sector. We cannot limit ourselves to a simple philanthropy but we must transform this action into a strategically important aspect for business.
