Babadogo Catholic Church School

The main goal of the project is the building and equipping a primary and secondary school for the children of Babadogo slum and provide to them a good educational program

Babadogo is a shantytown of Nairobi and is lacking in the most basic services for the population. Thanks to an appreciable effort on the part of the government of Kenya to make public the primary schools and has thus generated an increase in the number of those inscribed at 100% and raising at 78% the level of literacy in the country, but the educational structures are today inadequate, poorly equipped and the number of teachers absolutely underestimated with regard to the number of students. The Augustinian Delegation of Kenya, therefore, supported by the projects sector of the Curia Generalizia Agostiniana and by the Apurimac Association, has decided to construct and equip a primary and a secondary school with the ability to host 800 students.

Description:

The project was begun in 2007 with the construction of the school and it was opened on 12 October 2008. Today it offers assistance to 850 girls and boys, guaranteeing them an educational program of quality, two hot meals a day and space to study, play and work for future even with the collaboration of the Babadogo Catholic Church HIV Center.
